Howdy Sun Bunnies! Has summer officially arrived? This week’s sunshine has definitely given me a spring in my step. With that in mind many of you may be thinking about incorporating an SPF into your skincare regime. I’m not here to preach only advise, however if you are bothered about premature aging an SPF should really be part of your daily skincare regime come rain or shine.

BUT I am well aware that it is when the sun is shining that many of us start to consider using an SPF so I have listed out my current favs in the market now!

Pro Collagen Marine cream is a well-loved favourite in the UK. In fact 1 sells every 9 seconds! I was so excited to be asked to appear in the campaign launch for the SPF version, which landed in stores last month. The SPF version is every bit as good as the original; same scent, texture, results but with added protection of factor 30.

Why I love it? It is the perfect makeup base. It deeply hydrates whilst being light and tackles aging head on. My skin’s texture vastly improves when I am using this daily. It’s the perfect all rounder and works for most skin types too.

Best for those looking for anti-aging in their skincare as well as protection.

NEWNESS: BEST DAY MOISTURISERS WITH SPFOrigins A Perfect World Day Cream with White Tea SPF 40

I tried this out for a few weeks before I decided it was good enough to feature in this round up. It provides broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection and skin feels revitalised and replenished after use but also fully protected and hydrated. I read quite a few reviews that it didn’t aggravate acne either. The addition of white tea helps fight free radicals too. It has a high factor so great if you are looking for a strong level of protection. Note that it feels thick on application but will sink in.

Why I love it? This is the perfect day cream for combination skin as it dramatically helps with dryness but the oil free formulation doesn’t clog pores.

Best for balancing combination skin types and high levels of protection.

This is a newish launch from Clarins, which I absolutely LOVE! I featured the whole new Hydra Essentiel range here on the blog earlier this year. This cream is formulated for normal to dry skin sufferers, however Clarins do have a gel cream for combination skin types that is equally as good.

I like that this is lightweight even though it intensely hydrates skin all day due to the addition of organic leaf of life that has awesome abilities to retain water levels. I also like that the SPF is slightly lower meaning it’s not a thick consistency and perfect for when I will be applying makeup with further SPF in it. A summer essential!

Why I love it? Not only does this product protect skin against UVA and UVB rays but also thermic shocks, temperature changes and external aggressors like pollution. Perfect for a city dweller.

Best for normal to dry skin types that suffer with dryness or loss of hydration throughout the day.

NEWNESS: BEST DAY MOISTURISERS WITH SPFSensai Cellular Performance Day Cream SPF 25

Sensai is not a brand I am massively familiar with although everything I do try I LOVE. It is worth noting that the brand is pricey. This day cream with SPF is part of the Cellular skincare range and focuses on anti aging for dry skin with the ingredient Koishimaru Silk EX taken from the Koishimaru cocoon. This ingredient helps with skin’s hyaluronic acid synthesis. It also works to protect skin cells from oxidisation (stress ageing) with green tea extract, yeast and white mustard seed, which both help to preserve the protein in our epidermis to the reduce stress levels on our cells.

It has a feather light formula that’s almost gel-like that has a zesty uplifting scent.

Why I love it? It feels super luxe to use and my skin glows after application too.

Best for more mature skin types or those with sensitive and dry skin.

  1. I use an SPF everyday, I mainly use the Sarah Chapman skin insurance but it’s now ran out so this post is perfectly timed! The Origins moisturiser sounds lovely, I might have to pick it up! 🙂
